Ingredients

  • 12 oz (340g) fettuccine pasta

  • 1 lb (450g) large shrimp, peeled and deveined

  • 2 tbsp Cajun seasoning (adjust to taste)

  • 2 tbsp butter

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

  • 4 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 ½ cups heavy cream

  • ¾ cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese

  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

  • Chopped fresh parsley, for garnish

  • Optional: a squeeze of lemon juice for brightness

Instructions

1. Cook the Pasta

  • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.

  • Cook the fettuccine according to package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

2. Prepare the Cajun Shrimp

  • In a mixing bowl, toss shrimp with Cajun seasoning until fully coated.

  • Heat olive oil and 1 tablespoon of butter in a large skillet over medium heat.

  • Add shrimp and cook for 2–3 minutes on each side, until pink and opaque. Remove shrimp and set aside.

3. Make the Alfredo Sauce

  • In the same skillet, melt the remaining butter.

  • Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant (about 1 minute).

  • Pour in the heavy cream, stirring to combine.

  • Let it simmer gently for 3–4 minutes until it starts to thicken.

  • Stir in Parmesan cheese and season with salt and pepper. Keep stirring until the sauce is silky smooth.

4. Combine Everything

  • Add cooked pasta to the skillet and toss to coat evenly with the Alfredo sauce.

  • Return the shrimp to the skillet and mix gently.

  • Simmer for 1–2 more minutes to heat through.

5. Serve & Enjoy

  • Garnish with chopped parsley and a hint of lemon juice, if desired.

  • Serve hot with garlic bread or a fresh green salad on the side.

Notes

  • Adjust the Heat: Cajun seasoning can vary in spice level. Start with 1 tablespoon if you’re sensitive to heat, and increase to taste.

  • Use Fresh Parmesan: Freshly grated Parmesan melts better and gives the sauce a smoother, richer texture than pre-packaged options.

  • Cream Substitutes: You can use half-and-half instead of heavy cream for a lighter sauce, though it may not be as thick.

  • Add Veggies: Feel free to toss in sautéed mushrooms, spinach, or bell peppers to make it a more complete one-pan meal.

  • Make it Gluten-Free: Use your favorite gluten-free pasta to keep it GF-friendly.

  • Double Up: This recipe easily doubles for meal prep or to serve a larger crowd. Just make sure to use a large skillet!
